Keeping up with the times
To ensure that cybersecurity is becoming a learnt practice starting at school level, ensuring that students are becoming well versed and knowledgeable about cybersecurity and related topics in a safe and structured learning environment.
What’s in it for me as a teacher?
Technology has become ubiquitous and it is no wonder that technology is being used extensively to aid teaching in schools. But are you teaching your children about the perils of technology and how to use it safely?
This session focuses on the importance of teaching cybersecurity to school students and why online safety requires good security habits. In today’s world, teachers play an important role as information providers, instilling in students a valuable lesson that protecting information is a learned skill.
You will learn how to incorporate cybersecurity into everyday learning with a thoroughly researched curriculum that is aligned to the Ministry of Education (MOE) and international standards.
How does it look?
Through an interactive presentation, games and quizzes, teachers will learn how to integrate cybersecurity lessons into their classroom through various channels such as campaigns, contests and bulletin boards. You will also gain a thorough understanding of the cyber training prescribed by the MOE as part of the Computer Science and Technology (CST) framework. You will gain detailed knowledge on the different skills and capabilities that students need to learn from grade 1 all the way to grade 12.
Technical and non-technical teachers alike have a lot to offer in ensuring your students are equipped with the right knowledge in cybersecurity related matters. You will learn valuable techniques in integrating cybersecurity into your classrooms. You will also takeaway teaching aids such as videos, booklets and curriculum which can further enhance the learning environment of your classrooms.
